5 & 3 Room Garden Apartments

We spoke with two of our tenants, A. and D., a young couple who are both high-tech professionals working remotely part of the week. They shared their experience of living in a Yoshpe Group Garden Apartment. Their spacious 5-room apartment on Yigal Alon Street in Herzliya features rooms on a single level, with a direct exit from the living room to the garden. The garden includes a paved area that holds space for a guest table and a seating spot.

D: “With our young children, it was crucial not to be restricted to the apartment indoors throughout the day. We often have our kids’ friends over from kindergarten, and we’ve even set up a charming treehouse for them to play in. In the afternoons, the children run around in the yard and have a great time together, giving us a break from screen time.”

Similar to interior design, our approach to garden design is custom and tailored to personal preferences. Gardens can be lush and wild or have a modern, clean aesthetic with plenty of open space. Effective planning ensures the garden becomes a space for family members to enjoy and relax during their free time.

A: “We love hosting our friends and family in the garden. The pleasant breeze and the calming sound of the fountain we’ve placed cerate’s a delightful atmosphere. Watching the trees grow is a joy, and picking fruit with the children in the summer is a true delight.”

A and D’s garden is a beautiful mix of grass, evergreen trees, and shrubs. These elements not only add greenery visible from the apartment windows but also act as a natural screen, offering privacy from neighbors. Strategically placed trees provide shade in the summer and ample sunlight in the winter. The garden, encircling almost the entire apartment, is divided into different guest areas, each with its own unique charm.

Interior Designer, Nechama Kraus, explains her work process: “I got involved during the planning phase, working on the paper sketches and obtaining the necessary permits. The apartment was thoughtfully designed, following the natural outline dictated by the lot’s shape. Its unique ridge-like structure provided planning advantages.”

Choosing the right sunlight direction is crucial for garden apartments located on the ground, ensuring natural light and saving on electricity. During this phase, I requested Sharon Yoshpe, the developer and co -CEO of Yoshpe Group, to add two more windows to the outer walls. Despite being a deviation from the original design for higher floors, the developer agreed to the change, even if it required submitting a modification plan to the municipality. The client recognized the positive significance of the alteration and agreed to cover the associated costs.

As a result, we added extra windows in the common areas of the apartment, one in the dining area and another in the corridor leading to the rooms, naturally enhancing light throughout the corridor.

The kitchen opens up to a charming dining area in a small yard, featuring a round table, chairs, and potted fruit trees. The collaboration between the developer, tenants, and designer played a crucial role, and I was pleased to see the Yoshpe Group accommodating as much as possible. The developer and site manager were approachable, welcoming requests and feedback. We implemented additional changes to the apartment layout and design, making small yet significant adjustments to optimize functionality. For instance, we expanded the kitchen width to maximize the storage area, provide ample counter space, and to create a spacious eating area.

We’ve upgraded the family-friendly features, giving the master bedroom bathroom area a roomier and cozier sink area.
We’ve enhanced the family-friendly features, providing the master bedroom’s bathroom with a more spacious and comfortable sink area.

Plus, we’ve repositioned the bathroom fixtures to provide an extended sink space in the children’s bathroom. In the living room, we’ve raised the separation wall to the ceiling and added a special TV niche for the residents’ convenience.

We designed custom furniture for the entire apartment, crafted by a skilled carpenter following the architectural plan. This allowed us to coordinate with the developer to position electrical points based on a tailored plan for the electricity, communication, and lighting that complements the furniture. Thanks to the thoughtful approach of entrepreneurs, Oren and Sharon Yoshpe, who were open to accommodate our requests, the shopping and design experience was made smoother, leaving my customers satisfied.
